  Assistive Technology (AT) Program

The Assistive Technology program provides information about computers and assistive technology that support the independence and well-being of people with impaired vision. Our AT specialist provides hands-on demonstrations of selected products; and offers individual instruction in their use for the following:

  • External speech synthesizers
  • Screen reading software
  • Scanners
  • Optical character readers
  • Personal readers
  • Braille translators/printers
  • Large display monitor
  • Screen enlargement software

Information and referrals via telephone are free. Demonstrations and tutorials are available at the agency's main office in Seattle, Washington; appointments are required. Demonstrations are free for first 1.5 hours, then $25 per hour; individual tutorials are $25 per two-hour session.
