  Our History

Founded as a private, non-profit agency in 1965, CSBPS has developed into the Northwest's lading vision rehabilitation agency specializing in helping individuals develop strategies and skills designed to enhance safety and independence despite vision loss. CSBPS is registered with the IRS as a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization and is on file with the Washington State Secretary of State (800) 332-GIVE). The agency is governed by a volunteer board of directors.

CSBPS Programs and Services are primarily funded through the collection and resale of used clothing and reusable household items, private donations, government contracts, fees for service, and United Way of King County. AT CSBPS, 87 percent of net revenues raised goes directly to programs and services for visually impaired people in the community.
